Day 140 Karrinyup, Perth, WA

After our epic day yesterday we were both looking for some downtime today.  It was also a great day to wash the bedding and towels as there is a strong breeze blowing in off the ocean.  The wind has kept the temperature down though with a top of just 16 degrees.

After we had finished our five loads of washing and it was all hung out to dry on the line we decided to check out the Karrinyup Shopping Centre that everybody is raving about.  Google said that it was a ten minute drive from us and it was almost spot on.  Actually this caravan park is very central to everything.  The beach is ten minutes, city about fifteen minutes (if you don't get lost), IGA less then ten minutes and the shopping centre ten minutes.

We found a great carpark almost immediately and headed straight to the ANZ bank that was virtually right at the door.  Our credit card is due to expire at the end of October and we are hoping to get a new one before we leave Perth.  The lady who attended to us inside ANZ was ever so helpful and told us exactly what to do and who to ring.  My job for later today.

Of course I couldn't just walk into the shopping centre without looking around.  Philip hates doing this so I tried to keep it as minimal as possible but as I have to go back here on Wednesday for an Audiology appointment it didn't worry me.  Philip will drop me off on Wednesday and I can browse to my hearts content!

The only thing I was really looking for was a cordless shaver.  I have one sitting in the bathroom drawer at "Paringa" and completely forgot to bring it with me.  Clearly I was distracted when I packed my toiletries for this trip because it almost always travels with me.  For all you ladies out there, this is a heads up.  These little razors are around $15 from either K-Mart or Big W and you just cannot go around them.  They are a game changer.  I picked up this one today from Big W.

It takes 2 x AAA Batteries that last for ages and can be used wet or dry. Win/Win.

Witchery was on my radar within the shopping centre and very conveniently there was a coffee shop right outside the door.  I sent Philip off to enjoy a coffee while I enjoyed a little retail therapy.  I bee-lined straight to the sale rack and picked up a lovely maxi skirt in a leopard print that rolls up to nothing and needs no ironing (pockets for the win!), a rust coloured sweater with a gorgeous off shoulder cowl, and a soft as silk long sleeved pale blue long-line top.  I am more than pleased with my purchases and can't wait to wear them.

Philip also made a few purchases.  A front zipped Blue Wool Knit Jacket from Just Jeans (also on sale) and a boxed set of Seasons 6-10 of the NCIS LA series.  He is just a little addicted to this show......

Lunch today was curried bangers and mash.  I bulked out the curry with lots of vegetable to get our five serves. Once again, it is a good old fashioned favourite and ever so warming on a coolish day.  Tomorrow we plan on driving to Yanchep National Park that is around 50km to the north of us.  The weather is predicted to be fine so it should be a lovely place to spend the day walking the numerous trails throughout the park.
