Day 158 Busselton, WA

We woke to a cool but glorious day. Philip commented that it seemed like a drier air compared to Perth, and I agreed with him, but it's probably because the rain has disappeared.

Walking was number one on the agenda today and we hit the path by our 8 am.  There is a walk and bicycle path that runs adjacent to the ocean and it runs in both directions from where we are staying on the southern side of Busselton.  Philip is going to cycle the full length to see how far it goes but we turned around at the 4km mark and we had nowhere reached the northern end of the path and hadn't walked at all towards the south.  I think perhaps the northern path will end at the Busselton Jetty.  It is a lovely walk that I'm certain we will walk every day that we are not touring.

By the time we arrived home we had walked for an hour and a half and it was almost 10am so we cooked up a healthy filling breakfast and decided that we would have a late lunch.  I poached a couple of eggs and sat them on toast spread with Avocado and a slice of Ham.  I topped it all with some of my home made Celery Leaf pesto.  The free range eggs were gifted to us by our friend Henry and I must say that they were exceptional with beautiful yellow yolks.

After breakfast we showered and made ourselves presentable for a drive into town to pick up our replacement credit cards that our friend Katie kindly posted to us and also to shop a couple of toiletry items from Coles.  Once we had completed those tasks we drove the short distance to the Busselton Jetty area.  Gosh it is a lovely space and there were so many people out enjoying the glorious weather.  The Busselton Jetty is 1.8km long and if we had our joggers on we would certainly have walked to the end where there is an Underwater Observatory.  There is also a cute little train that will take you to the end of the Jetty if you can't walk the distance.  However, we had "town" shoes on so we will do that another day.

I definitely want to return to take some sunset photos over the jetty and there is a boutique brewery close by that we would like to visit.  I feel our nine days in Busselton will have to be extended!
