Days 6 & 7 Evergreen, Gundiah

Yesterday we had a full service of the van at Suncoast Caravan Repairs at Maroochydore.  I want to give a big shout out to these guys.  From when we arrived to when we left the whole process runs like clock work.  There is a large bay for us to pull into when we arrive where we unhitch the van and it is taken away for its service.  We thought we would be without the car for the day so this was a very pleasant surprise.  The service took a lot longer than we anticipated - around 7 hours - but we had it in mind to go to Sunshine Plaza to catch a movie, so that didn't worry us at all.

Sunshine Plaza has grown since the last time we were there, but that would have been almost 20 years ago!  We headed straight to the Cinema because the movie we wanted to watch - the latest Indiana Jones - was due to start at 10.15am.  The movie went for almost three hours (with pre movie advertisements) so it was perfect.  The movie was full of action and negligible violence so it was a movie I really enjoyed.  By the time it finished at 1.00pm we were ready to eat.

Just a simple meal of burgers and fries for us for lunch, but it took ages for our order to reach our table and I didn't think that the place was very busy but I'm guessing they are a bit short staffed.  After lunch we walked and walked and walked some more.  We really didn't have much shopping to do.  We just wanted to buy flowers and chocolates for our daughter-in-laws birthday (50th) that took no time, so we wandered around Myers for something to do.  You should never do that really because inevitably you will purchase something!

Philip bought a new electric razor (good purchase) and I bought a new wool jumper to replace the one I bought with me that has a couple of holes in it that I didn't notice when I packed.  It will go into the lifeline bin.  While we were casing Sunshine Plaza, Suncoast Caravans rang us at 3.00pm to say that our van was ready to go - an hour ahead of schedule so that was a win.

It was another very easy process to hook-up the van and set off down the road towards Marco and Suzie's place at Gundiah.  We had rung them earlier to give them a bit of an indication of when we would be at their place and rang again to say we would be there even earlier.  It is well under two hours to drive to Marco's and we pulled up at the front door around 6.00pm.

We had a beaut night to celebrate Suzie's 50th.  Marco was cooking a roast lamb with all the vegetables in the camp oven when we arrived and we sat around the campfire while this was baking.  There was another couple to join us and the six of us had a lively night with lots of terrific conversation over dinner.

It was well after 10pm when we said our good- nights.  The night was chilly but we had turned on the heater in the van so it was toasty warm for us when we climbed into bed.  This morning we woke to a very foggy morning but by 8.30 the fog had lifted and I was able to go for a hike to the top of "Evergreen Hill".  The views from up here are stunning.  I had to walk through the cattle to get to the top of the hill but they hardly moved and were very interested in me.

I stopped to photograph this bursting seed pod. Isn't Mother Nature incredible.
