Day 31 Douglas, Isle of Man

Hello Isle of Man, goodbye Isle of Man.  This is as close as we got…...

Another disappointment today as our Captain tried for two hours to get the anchor to grab hold off the coast of Isle of Man.  The wind was the problem yet again with wind gusting up to 50kmh.  The captain informed us that he had tried every trick in the book but in the end he declared defeat.  Even if the anchor would have held the ship, it would have been treacherous getting on and off the tenders so maybe it was for the best. Tomorrow is Dublin where we are catching up with our nephew Jeremy.  Fingers crossed again as it is once again an anchor day…...

Again,  the team scrambled to arrange activities for those onboard and yet again they came up with the goods.  Guest speakers were called upon as were the Regent Production Company.  They organised things like Cha Cha Cha classes, Bingo, Skee-Ball and lots more indoor activities as it is too cold and windy for outside activities.  Bingo was the only activity we chose, plus around a hundred others!  The Jackpot reached over $200 that was quite high.  We did not win :(

This afternoon it was English Afternoon Tea.  The pastry chefs do an extraordinary job at preparing tables full of wonderful treats but we especially enjoy the delicious Scones and Cream. Incidentally, as far as the ongoing debate goes, I'm always cream first.  😀

A stroll around the deck was what we needed after our afternoon tea and as the mini golf course was available we played that for a couple of rounds.  Golf is frustrating but it is a fun way to kill time.
