Days 18 & 19 at Sea

I haven't had a lot to write about these past couple of days.   We are on day two of five days at sea and unfortunately the sea has been very rough.  Our suite is right at the front of the ship and ordinarily this would be a prime position but in rough seas it is probably the worst possible place to be!  The best place is mid-ship and that is where I spent a lot of my time today, reading a book.  There is a lovely lounge area here and I could gladly have put my feet up and gone to sleep on the very comfortable lounge I was sitting on.  But that would not have been a good look.....

It is cold.  Hovering around the 2-3 degrees and we understand that it is snowing in Alaska so we have that to look forward to.  We have spotted whales from our balcony and there should be a lot more sitings as we near the Alaska coastline.  As I sit and type this blog there is a pea soup fog surrounding the ship.  It is very eerie......

There was a photography lecture in the theatre this morning so I went along  but didn't get a lot from it.  It was all about i-phone photography and I had completed a course on this a few years ago.  However I did gather one useful piece of advice on one of the phone camera functions so it was probably worth it to attend.

You never seem to stop eating on a cruise ship but we are trying very hard to only have two meals a day without dessert.  Last night we had dinner in Chatruese - the french restaurant, so this morning we skipped breakfast and had a delicious lunch in Prime 7 Restaurant - specialising in steak.  Tonight the butler bought us a lovely selection of canapeś so that is our dinner for this evening.

Up until now seasickness is something that hasn't bothered me but I have found as I get older that is affecting me as does flying in a light plane.  The best thing I have found is ginger and green apples and I did purchase the wrist bands that supposedly work on acupuncture points to eliminate seasickness. Can't really say that they work but I do feel a little better when I wear them.

Well folks, that has been the past couple of days and I think the next three days will pretty much be a repeat.
