Day 20, 21 & 22 at Sea

Happy Mothers Day Mum!  We are on our fifth day at sea without mobile coverage so I won't be able to call you, but certainly thinking of you.  Actually we are now a day behind (it's Saturday 13th) so we don't celebrate Mothers Day on board the ship until tomorrow.

We crossed the International Date Line two days ago so yesterday was Groundhog Day with us having two Friday 12th's.  We have also had to put our clocks forward every day for a total of six hours.  It is awful really as we feel so very tired.  No-one seems to get out of bed until after 10am because of the change of time.  The housekeepers, who keep our rooms neat and tidy, are having to work much longer days as most people have the "do not disturb" signs on there doors until late morning.

Thankfully we have not had any more really rough seas and the staff on board keep us entertained all day long.  Yesterday they set up a "fete" in the Atrium area.  There were all sorts of competitions that you could play.  Pillow Stuffing, Quoits, Balloon Popping to name a few.  It was fun to watch and at the end of the fete there was a line dancing demonstration by the entertainment crew.

We haven't been waking up early enough to eat breakfast - this morning it was almost 9am. So instead of breakfast we have been holding off until lunch. There are four really good restaurants that serve lunch so we so  have been rotating these four.  Dinner has also been a bit of hit and miss - most times just eating canapeś.  But we are having dinner tonight in Pacific Rim that is asian inspired.  We had lunch today with another Aussie couple from Brisbane and they said Pacific Rim is their favourite restaurant.  I will review it in my next post.

Funnily enough the Brisbane couple, Geoff and Dianna,  are extending their holiday in Canada and we are all going to be on the same APT tour!  Tomorrow we reach Dutch Harbour.  There are no tours here but we can get off the ship and wander around.  Outside temperature today is around 5-6 degrees and sunny so I hope that it stays that way for tomorrow.  That temperature is bearable.
