Geelong, Victoria

We've made it to Geelong!  We arrived here on Tuesday after driving the remaining Great Ocean Drive.  It was a bleak day for our drive along the highway so the drive was not as lovely as it could have been.  It is a narrow, windy and hilly drive that would be great in a car but towing a caravan it is a little bit challenging but my husband rose to the occasion (of course xx).

Our time in Geelong has been spent cleaning the van inside and out and catching up with friends.  There are kilometres of walking/cycling paths right opposite our caravan park, along both sides of the Barwon River, so both Philip and I have taken full advantage.  It was lovely to see the rowing teams (dozens) skimming up and down the river.

Yesterday we caught up with our friends Lynn and David at the Empire Grill.  The food was delicious and it was great to catch up on each others news.  We first met Lynn and David on a cruise that we did together in 2019 and have seen each other quite a bit over the past few years.  When we return to Geelong in the new year we will catch up again.  It was a very long lunch, not ending until almost 4pm!  There was a lot to talk about hahahaha.....

So that brings me to today.  I am writing this blog from onboard the Spirit of Tasmania.  There was a slight delay boarding the ship but we had set sail by 11.30 am (scheduled 10.30) and we have an arrival time in Devonport of 9.30pm.  For this journey we have recliner lounges that are really quite comfortable.  Philip has been like a caged animal roaming the ship from one deck to another and I am only seeing him intermittently.  He is such an angel......

I'm almost out of mobile range so I will sign off from this post.  See you all in Devonport!
