I'm still here.....

It's been over four weeks since my last post.  Good grief.  Where does the time go!

The last four weeks saw us flying to Brisbane to meet with the advisor then hiring a car and driving across to Toowoomba to enjoy valuable time with mum and then across to Gundiah to spend enjoyable time with Marco and Suzie.  We were only away for a week but it seemed like a lot longer thank goodness.  All time spent with family is very precious.

My sister flew home with us to spend a week just chillin'.  It rained for half the time Kathy was here so we didn't go anywhere apart from Port Douglas.  No-one likes driving in heavy rain least of all me.
But it was great to have quality time with my little sister who I don't get to see often enough.

We have also enjoyed time with friends that is usually spent around a table somewhere enjoying delicious food.  Our favourite meal has been at Beach Almond in Palm Cove.  The Asian inspired food was very good and I wish that I had taken a photo of Philips meal that was called Egg Net Salad.  It was an asian salad with Pork and Calamari but the Egg net over the salad was amazing.  I am going to try and emulate it someday because it is really just beaten egg poured criss cross into a hot non-stick pan to form the net. My meal of Barramundi wrapped in banana leaf was so succulent and I was disappointed when I had finished it because I just wanted more.

At home I have been including a lot of fruit (mango, peaches and nectarines) into our salads that take a salad to a whole new level and is so delicious on these hot steamy days.

Our time with Marco and Suzie included lots of time sitting around shooting the breeze either on their  cool verandah or on the banks of the very swollen Mary River.  We had rain on some days and dazzling sunshine on others.  I enjoy both.  On Valentines day we drove into Gympie where we had a meal that included lots of tasting plates.  What a great idea!  You get to taste so many different foods that you might not normally order.

Each evening at Evergreen we would drive up to the top of the hill where the chooks live in a converted caravan.  Marco and Suzie had just bought new chooks that had to be trained to get into the caravan each night and I give my son and DIL full marks for patience!  The brooms are a very handy thing to have in your hand....

How are you all going with all the sensationalism surrounding Covid-19 (or Coronovirus)?  My god. It is just a different strain of influenza folks and there is absolutely no need for panic.  I still don't understand the need to go out and buy 100 rolls of toilet paper ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.
